The 1920's was a true consumer society; Transportation and communication and became more advanced, prohibition was introduced, and Stock Market trading became a huge hit. New forms of entertainment were created such as the radio, movie halls, and many new sports and new music. Women became more independent in the 1920s; they were given the ability to vote. Flapper girls were the icon for Women in the 1920s; they wore dresses up to their shins, and they danced the Charleston to Jazz music.
Facts about Al Campone
- Capone’s specially-outfitted, bullet-proof Cadillac was seized by the U.S. Treasury Department in 1932 and later used by the government as Franklin Roosevelt’s limousine
- Capone got his “Scarface” nickname after a bar brawl in Coney Island that left him with three large slashes on the left side of his face.
