Summary: Mao and his communist party take over many of the communist party in Manchuria. Chiang was supported by the U.S, they have to support them to try and prevent communism taking over in China. Mao led the peasant army which was now joining up to the millions. The civil War that breaks up ends up being pretty one sided, Nationalists retreat to the Island of Formosa- which is now know as Taiwan.
