Three Kings was filmed in 1999 focusing on the events the end of the Gulf War and USA affairs. While disarming Iraqi soldiers, Troy, Walter and Conrad Vig- to their surprise- found map in one of their bottoms. This map revealed several bunks throughout Iraq where Saddam has hidden gold stolen from Kuwait. Archie Gates, who intrudes on the three men trying to decipher the map, makes it his quest to find the gold- with the help of the three other American soldiers. The four keep the mission a secret, as it was illegal, and went for the morning attempting to retrieve the gold and keep it for themselves. As Archie and the other three men planned this to be a day mission, the whole plan went haywire as the soldiers couldn’t bear watching innocent civilians get tortured right in front of them. Almost getting away with the gold and Iraqi prisoners, Iraqi reinforcements managed to destroy their plan of evacuation and captured one of the American soldiers, Troy, who was tortured for several days. The mission later changed into a plan for saving Troy and helping the rebels cross the Iranian/Iraqi border. Through this mission, Walter was shot and killed and the American soldiers were arrested trying to help the rebels gain their freedom- which was an act against the Peace Treaty. In the end, the rebels got their freedom, in exchange for the three Americans showing the military where they stashed the gold.
